Difference between Workman Compensation Insurance and Foreign Worker Medical Insurance

Workman Compensation Insurance has been around much longer.  This insurance pays for work-related accidents and employers have to buy for all their workmen, be they locals or foreigners.  This is a compulsory insurance.

Foreign Woorker Medical Insurance is a new requirement covers the foreign worker for hospitalisation for non-work related situations, eg accidents or illnesses that are not employment-induced.  This is also a compulsory insurance.

Depending on the situation, employers may have to buy BOTH coverages for some of their workers as long as they fall within their respective stipulated requirements.
